5 Years Later...

Adell becomes a 5-year-old tomorrow, and I'm starting to realize she's not a little baby anymore. Of course, that means I thinking a lot about when she was a little baby. We took a trip to New York to visit the church sights just 8 weeks before we welcomed Adell into the world. I remember spending a lot of time on that trip thinking of how much my life would change when we had a baby. Five years later - the changes are plenty - but I wouldn't trade them for anything.

Adell begins a new dance class next week and she's very excited. I can't believe how grown up she looks in her new leotard!

Early Birthday Princess Gear

We celebrated Grandma Maree's birthday today at Aunt Kara's house. Adell and Breanne are both anxiously awaiting their birthdays - both coming in just a couple weeks. Aunt Kara surprised the girls by letting them open an early gift from her. Imagine the girls delight when they found princess gear galore in their bags. Complete with tu-tu's, wands, tairas, nail polish, and glittery lip gloss - they were in Heaven! Thank you, Aunt Kara, we love you!

Baby Adell

Today Adell asked me what she looked like as a baby. I pulled out her baby book and showed her some pictures. I remember being a new mom and spending so much of my time staring at my brand new baby - just memorizing her little face. Adell will be five soon and it's amazing to me how time tends to make those "baby days" images a little fuzzy. It was nice to refresh my memory with her sweet little baby pictures. Adell asked me, "was I a cute baby?" I told her to look at the pictures and tell me what she thought, "do you think you were a cute baby?" She answered, "YES!"

It's too hot...

They beg all winter to go outside, and now it's summer...what do they do? They watch a show on the couch and tell me it's too hot to go outside. I guess they're right, it is pretty hot out there.

Music Man

Last night we watched Grandpa Marc perform in American Fork's production of The Music Man. Marc did a fantastic job, and Adell loved watching the show. Despite the fact the show was a bit long and she ended up staying up past 11:00 PM, she remained energetic and in high spirits. A few of her favorite show highlights include Winthrop and his problems saying "S," all the dancing and singing (especially Marion with her "so beautiful voice"), the horse pulling the Wells Fargo Wagon, Mommy snagging her a balloon during the show finale (that's a whole story in itself), Grandpa "wooing" Marion (he had to kiss her and everything!), and the AF Marching Band filling the auditorium during the finale playing "76 Trombones..."
